2-Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness
(SST-302)

This 2-hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness course trains participants on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Students will learn to recognize adverse effects associated with substance abuse in order to protect themselves and others on the job site. This course is a safety training course required by NYC Local Law 196 to obtain a Site Safety Training (SST) card.

What is Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Training?

This course is designed to raise awareness among employees regarding the risks associated with drug and alcohol usage, both on a personal level and within the workplace environment. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of dependency disorders. The training will delve into the general impact and impairment caused by drug use, as well as the use of alcohol in the workplace, particularly with regard to its combined effects when used in the construction industry.

Through this training, you will develop the skills to refrain from working while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and enhance your ability to identify, prevent, and mitigate the negative consequences associated with drug and alcohol use and abuse (RAP).

The curriculum will encompass a detailed examination of various drugs and their physiological effects, the impact of alcohol on the body, the adverse outcomes resulting from the concurrent use of drugs, including over-the-counter medications, and strategies for controlling and preventing substance misuse in the workplace.
